The finder searches every product reviewed on this site. It does not rank them by anything we were paid to prefer, and it does not hide one because its listing is incomplete — a listing that never states a figure still appears, labelled not stated, because an incomplete listing is not a worse product.

Whose app and voice assistant the device answers to. A device that names only one is a device that only works properly inside it.

How should it connect?

Listings usually name several. Wi-Fi is the default; HDMI matters for anything that plugs into a television; Ethernet is what a streaming box wants when the Wi-Fi is poor.

Built-in voice assistant

Only listings that state a built-in assistant are shown when this is ticked. Plenty of devices are controllable by voice through a separate speaker without having one themselves.

How to read the results

There is no figure on the right of these cards, and that is deliberate: a tablet, a doorbell camera and a smart plug share no measurement worth comparing, and screen size is published on about one listing in twenty. What the cards carry instead is what the makers actually state — the ecosystem, the connections and the features — with anything unstated marked as such.

Where a class holds fewer than eight products, no comparison is shown. That is a deliberate limit, not a missing feature. Read the review under each result opens this site’s review of that product; Check price on Amazon opens the listing.

Why incomplete listings still appear

Every figure here is the manufacturer’s, as quoted in the review. A filter that dropped everything it could not confirm would discard much of the catalogue the moment you answered, and what it discarded would not be worse products, only less completely described ones. So a filter excludes a product only when its listing positively contradicts what you asked for.

The catalogue is 1011 devices at the time of writing, and coverage of the questions varies: ecosystem by 84%, connectivity by 92%, Built-in voice assistant by 79%. Those are the manufacturers’ own publishing habits, not gaps we chose to leave.

What the finder cannot tell you

It cannot tell you how well a camera sees at night or how a speaker sounds, because those are judgements from using them and this site reviews specifications. It cannot tell you what a device will still do in three years, which for anything tied to a cloud service is a real question. And it cannot tell you what it does with your data beyond what the maker publishes.
